Fresh Press Live Hash Rosin is packaged immediately after pressing – before it has time to cure or change consistency. The finished product presents a pinesap-like consistency with a glossy appearance, and with certain resin, the terpenes may be more accentuated in this form, effectively capturing the aromatic profile of the live plant. Over time, if left at room temperature (and even in non-freezing cold temperatures), the fresh press rosin will begin to nucleate, or “butter up,” and, with a little mixing, will become the more familiar cold cure hash rosin consistency.

It is interesting to note that not all strains will perform well as fresh press. Stability is key and certain varieties adapt well to this product, while others “crash out” too quickly, becoming cold cure rosin in a matter of hours when stored as a small quantity, like a gram package. Even for strains conducive to fresh press, an airtight package and a cold environment (preferably the freezer) are critical to preserving its unique consistency.
